The cable television giant, that is geared towards kids, is celebrating Black History Month in a special way with a brand-new series of PSAs set in Charleston, South Carolina, that will explore themes of education, culture, and cuisine in relation to African-Americans.

Each PSA is narrated by children while the rich historical culture of Charleston serves as their backdrop as 50% of African-Americans are able to trace their ancestry to the port of Charleston, which served as a slave-port and trading center more than a century ago.

Developed internally by the Nickelodeon Public Affairs and Brand Creative teams, the PSAs are produced by Station Films and directed by Seyi Peter-Thomas.

The spots are currently airing across Nickelodeon’s platforms which include Nickelodeon, Nick JR., Nicktoons, and TeenNick.
