She’s back—and she’s smiling! Amanda Bynes stepped out to celebrate Michael Costello and Style PR’s capsule collection launch in L.A. on Thursday, July 23, and, with a smile on her face, the former child star certainly seemed to be in good spirits.
The Easy A actress, 29, chose a flirty crocheted dress, complete with sheer panels and an open back, plus square-shaped sunglasses and stiletto heels. Her bangs were brushed off to one side, with the rest of her blonde locks styled straight, and she added a light cocoa lip.
While at the event, the She’s the Man actress was seen going up to pregnant TV host Diana Madison and rubbing her belly. Bynes was overheard telling the mom-to-be, “Oh, my sister is about to give birth in a week! She’s having a baby girl.”

The Costello fete marks the first time that Bynes, whose dramatic ups and downs over the past few years have been well-documented, has attended a public event in a while. (Her last official red carpet was the MTV Movie Awards in June 2011, and she’s popped up extremely rarely at other events since.) But she seemed right at home on the scene, gussied up and waving to fans.
As Bynes’ attorney, David Esquibias, told Us Weekly in June, the comedienne-turned-big screen star has been “doing great” on the road to recovery. He added, “She appreciates all of the love and support she received from her family, friends, and fans.”
